USCIS is accepting proposals from
regional centers for participation in a Pilot Immigration Program
provided for by Section 610 of the Appropriations Act. USCIS will
select regional center(s) that are responsible for promoting
economic growth in a geographical area. USCIS created a new Form
I-924 to collect the data. This is necessary to clarify
requirements for a regional center document, improve the quality of
applications, better document eligibility for the Pilot Program,
alleviate content inconsistencies among applicants submissions,
and support a more efficient process for adjudication of
applications.
There has been an increase of
2,428 annual burden hours and an increase of $824,340 in the annual
burden cost. The increases can be attributed to the new Form I-924
and I-924A, and the new requirement to charge a fee when filing the
application that is contained in the proposed rule titled: U.S.
Citizenship and Immigration Services Fee Schedule; RIN
1615-AB80.
