The Rural Innovation Fund (Rural Fund)
is authorized pursuant to the Consolidated Appropriations Act,
2010, Public Law 111-117. Rural Fund is designed to provide support
for highly targeted and innovative grants dedicated to addressing
the problems of concentrated rural housing distress and community
poverty for projects that demonstrate a great likelihood of
substantial impact in addressing the housing needs and community
poverty in the project area.
The collection of this
information is necessary because following the normal clearance
procedures is resonably likely to result in public harm if normal
clearance procedures are followed. Such harm will accrue to
potential grant receipients under this program that are located in
the most rural and impoverished areas of the United States and the
lower-income residents in the service target area who are the
beneficiaries of the program.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
