This proposed rule complies with a
statutory mandate under section 420 of the Rail Safety Improvement
Act of 2008. The information collected under this proposed rule
will be used by FRA to ensure that railroads operating camp cars
comply with all of the requirements of this regulation in order to
protect the health and safety of camp car occupants.
This is a new collection of
information associated with FRAs new Part 228 proposed rule. The
total burden requested for this submission amounts to 7,348 hours.
By definition, the entire requested burden is a program change.
There are no additional costs to respondents relating to the
proposed collection of information.
