2011 Certified Organic Production Survey
USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) is conducting the 2011
Certified Organic Production Survey.
In 2008, 79 percent of USDA certified organic producers indicated they planned
to maintain or increase production levels over the next five years. Is the organic
industry still poised for this growth? Have certified operations increased production?
This and more information will be gathered during the 2011 Certified Organic
Production Survey. NASS will mail the survey in early December to all known USDA
certified organic producers, who are asked to respond by December 20. NASS will
publish the results in the fall of 2012.
To make this survey a success your cooperation is needed. Participants can mail
back their forms or complete the survey online at www.nass.usda.gov. Survey
respondents are guaranteed by law (Title 7, U.S. Code) that their individual
information will be kept confidential.
This is an opportunity for USDA certified organic producers to share their voices and
help ensure the continued growth and sustainability of organic farming in the United
States. The results will help shape future decisions regarding farm policy, funding
allocations, availability of goods and services, community development and other
key issues.
