Abstract: As a means to improve health and health care performance, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), as part of the Administration's Open Government Initiative, has been making federal data sets on health indicators available to data.gov. Through access to these datasets, users are able to develop applications of the data and apply them to a broad variety of challenges and opportunities to improve health and health care at the community level.
