Educators’ Focus Group Screening Guide



Introduction

[Recruiters: Please recruit eight focus groups – two per city]


Hello, I’m _________ and I’m calling from ____________. We have been hired by the National Atlas to recruit 7th through 12th grade educators to participate in a focus group discussion concerning your product and service needs for mapping information. The sessions will take place on [INSERT DATE AND TIME] at a focus group facility in [INSERT CITY] on [DATE AND TIME]. The discussion will be 90 minutes long and include a group of approximately 10 educators like yourself. Your participation with this research is voluntary, but your feedback on this project will help improve our products and services. [State the following sentence only in professional focus group facility group settings, not professional conference/event venues] As a token of our appreciation for your time, you will receive $75. Light refreshments will also be served.


The session will be led by a professional moderator. Some staff of the client will also be observing the sessions. While the sessions will be recorded to help us prepare a report, our report will not include any personally identifiable information or comments tied to any individuals.
