This application is used by permanent
residents or conditional residents, refugees or asylees, and aliens
aboard seeking to apply for a travel document to lawfully reenter
the United States or to be paroled for humanitarian purposes into
the United States.
There has been an increase of
326,547 annual burden hours currently associated with this
information collection. This increase can be attributed to an
increase in the numbers of respondents that complete and submit
this form to USCIS. USCIS reported a total of 167,073 respondents
in 2009. USCIS is now reporting that the number of respondents has
increased by 171,867, as a new total of 338,940 respondents submit
requests through this form. There has been an increase of
$16,621,739 annual burden cost due to the increase on the number of
respondents previously discussed and the increase of the average
hourly rate from $10 to $30.74.
