Dear Processor:

We need your help to prepare estimates for California's 2008 final utilization and average prices paid for apples. Please complete this questionnaire and return it by May 15. A postage-paid envelope is enclosed for your convenience or you may FAX the report to 1‑888-478-5637.

Response to this survey is voluntary and not required by law. However, your cooperation is very important to make California's estimates more accurate. Individual reports are kept confidential and only used in State totals.

If you have any questions, please call Lena Schwedler at 1‑800‑851‑1127, Ext. 132. Thank you for your assistance.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Include all 2008 crop apples purchased directly from growers or grower groups, including quantities diverted to other firms. Do not report apples acquired from other processors.

2. Report the grower price and the equivalent price paid at the processing plant door on a pay-weight basis. Include in the processing plant door price per ton any harvesting costs, delivery costs to the processing plant door, and any other services furnished without charge to growers. If growers delivered raw fruit to the processing plant door, report actual prices paid to growers, including premiums and/or discounts. A work sheet on the reverse side is furnished to assist you in reporting.

3. For apples grown in Oregon, Washington, or another state report the equivalent price paid at the processing plant door.
