2013 NSCG Questionnaire Changes: Questions Modified
Other than the new questionnaire items listed above, the 2013 NSCG questionnaire is the
same as the 2010 NSCG questionnaire except for the following minor changes
1) The reference date was changed throughout the questionnaire from October 1, 2010 to February
1, 2013.
2) The number of response options for Question E7 (new cohort)/F6 (old cohort) were changed
from two options to three, as follows :

On October 1, 2010, were you living in the United States, Puerto Rico, or another U.S.
territory, or were you living in another country?

3) In Question A37, the abbreviation “Dept.” is spelled out as “Department.”
4) In Question A11, “25,000+ employees” was changed to “25,000 or more employees” to
coincide with “10 or fewer employees” at the other end of the response scale.
5) The color of the paper mail questionnaire is green in the old cohort rather than purple as it
was in 2010.
