On February 3, 2012, OMB cleared the FTC's adjusting entries to split PRA burden with the Consumer Financial Protetion Bureau (CFPB) regarding the formerly designated Free Annual File Disclosures Rule, and now designated Regulation V subpart N, based on the pre-existing FTC PRA burden estimates for the formerly named rule. The current OMB clearance for its share of PRA burden tied to its continuing enforcement jurisdiction, runs through November 30, 2012. The instant request for renewed 3 year clearance updates the prior estimates while still factoring in the 50:50 apportionment vis-a-vis the CFPB.

The updated burden estimates present increases of 15,393 hours and $1,916,000 in capital/non-labor costs over the currently cleared FTC burden totals, after the halving for shared interagency enforcement. These increases are largely attributable to FTC staff's estimate of the projected increase in the number of requests for free annual file disclosures.
