The information collected on this form
is used by lawful permanent residents seeking to become naturalized
citizens of the United States. The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration
Services (USCIS) uses this form to determine an applicant's
eligibility for naturalization.
There has been an increase in
the annual hour burden for the form N-400 due to a better estimate
in the number of respondents who will file the form. There is also
an increase in the total annual hour burden for the collection due
to the reporting of the burden for the biometric processing that
was not previously reported.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
