The Data Item Descriptions (DIDS) in
ASSIST, formally AMSDL, contain data requirements used in DoD
contracts. This information is contained in DoD contracts for
supplies, services, hardware, and software. The information
collected from the public and DoD contractors is necessary for DoD
to support the design, test, manufacture, training, operation and
maintenance of procured items.
Increase in burden resulted in
an increase in expected number of respondents and total number of
annual responses. The 2010 IC did not include any costs in the
Annual Cost Burden line, but according to the Supporting Statement
that was submitted in 2010, the amount was $1,050,382,080. There
will be an increase in the corresponding cost for 2013.

1320.8(b)(3).
