When it last sought approval
for this information collection, the agency projected that it would
receive Part 566 submissions from approximately 200 manufacturers
each year and that it would take each manufacturer 10 minutes to
prepare each submission. Estimating the cost for preparing the
submission at $20 per hour, the agency projected that the total
cost for all affected manufacturers would be $633 per year. Based
on the volume of submissions received over the past three years
(487 in 2010, 585 in 2011, and 526 in 2012), the agency projects
that it will receive 533 submissions in each of the next three
years. The agency has revised the estimated time for completing
each submission from 10 to 15 minutes and increased the cost for
completing the submissions from $20 to $30 per hour to better
reflect current business practices and expenses. These adjustments
have increased the projected annual cost to industry for preparing
the submissions from $630 to $3,990.
