The Railroad Retirement Board collects information needed to provide customers with the ability to request a Password Request Code and subsequently, to establish an individual PIN/Password, the initial steps in providing the option of conducting transactions with the RRB on a routine basis through the Internet.
The proposed burden is calculated based on actual usage of the PIN/Password system. The total annual responses have increased by 13,274, from 19,226 to 32,500 and the total burden hours have increased by 501, from 1,041 to 1,542. The increase is due to the number of new online accounts that have been established as a result of our efforts to publicize and encourage the use of the self-service options available on the agency's website. We have shown the increase of 13,274 annual responses and 501 burden hours as an adjustment.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that the collection of information encompassed by this request complies with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3).
