In August thru October 2015, CMS, in partnership with the IRS, will host a series of All State SOTA calls with State Medicaid Agencies to discuss the 1095 B reporting requirement. During the calls, CM/IRS would ask States a series of questions to gauge their readiness. Following is a list of questions:

Are you aware that in early 2016 state Medicaid and CHIP agencies will be required to file an information return with the IRS and furnish a copy to the individual that will report coverage information for each enrollee for calendar year 2015? (Answers: Yes, No)
Have you begun planning for implementation of the information reporting requirement? (Answers: Yes, No)
How far along is your state in development of an information reporting system that will allow it to file Forms 1095-B with the IRS and furnish a copy to the recipient? On a scale of 0 (not started) to 5 (complete)
What is your biggest area of concern with implementation? (Answer options: IT capabilities, operational capabilities, funding, other)
Has your state used any resources from the ACA Information Returns (AIR) program office, including the AIR technical webinars or AIR website? (Answer: Yes, No, Unsure)
What is your level of confidence that you will be prepared to submit information returns in 2016? On a scale of 0 (no confidence) to 5 (fully confident)
