NOAA Coral Reef Conservation Program (CRCP) Survey

Ecosystem Research and Monitoring Information

[Note: CRCP will also offer a Spanish version of the instrument since some of the respondents may be more comfortable taking the survey in Spanish. A page before this introduction will ask which language they want to take the survey in.]

Introduction

Welcome! Thank you for participating in this survey on the usefulness of data and information provided by the NOAA Coral Reef Conservation Program (CRCP). Your feedback will help us improve current data and information products and develop new products to meet your needs. This survey should take about 10 minutes to complete.

This is a voluntary survey. Your responses to this survey will be kept anonymous and any published results of the survey will be summarized in a manner that does not allow identification of individuals. Public reporting burden for this collection of information is estimated to average 10 minutes per response, including the time for reviewing instructions, searching existing data sources, gathering and maintaining the data needed, and completing and reviewing the collection of information. Send comments regarding this burden estimate or any other suggestions for reducing this burden to {NOAA Contact, Address, phone/email optional}.

Notwithstanding any other provisions of the law, no person is required to respond to, nor shall any person be subjected to a penalty for failure to comply with, a collection of information subject to the requirements of the Paperwork Reduction Act, unless that collection of information displays a currently valid OMB Control Number.

  1. In the following dropdown menus, please indicate up to five categories of information and data products that you use and that are most important to you. It is not necessary to place them in order of importance, just select up to five that are the most important to you. You can also select less than five, but we ask that you select at least one.

Dropdown 1: {Category 1}

Dropdown 2: {Category 2}

Dropdown 3: {Category 3}

Dropdown 4: {Category 4}

Dropdown 5: {Category 5}

Next, we would like to ask you about your use of each of the categories you selected above and how satisfied you are with the quality of the information and data in those categories.

{Note: At this point in the survey, the respondents will be asked a series of questions about their use and satisfaction with the up to 5 categories they selected in question 6 above. The questions for each of the 12 categories (see list in question 5) appears in an attachment to this instrument.}

{Note: Respondents will also be given the opportunity to skip the 4th and 5th set if fatigue is setting in and go to the end to survey to answer a few final questions.}

{Note: Question numbers from this point forward reflect the situation where the respondent selects 5 categories in Question 6 and also agrees to answer questions about the 4th and 5th category selected.}

{Insert questions for category respondent selected as Category 1 in Question 6; questions 7 – 16}

{Insert questions for category respondent selected as Category 2 in Question 6; questions 17 – 26}

{Insert questions for category respondent selected as Category 3 in Question 6; questions 27 – 36}

  1. Thank you for providing your feedback on the first three categories you selected. We would like to ask you the same set of questions for the remaining categories you selected. Would you like to continue?

    1. Yes, I would like to provide feedback on those categories.

    2. No thanks. Please take me to the end of the survey.

{If Question 37 is “no”, continue to Question 57}
