Abstract: The purpose of TSA's Highway BASE program is to assess the current state of security gaps and implemented countermeasures throughout the highway modeof transportation by posing questions to highway transportation asset owners and operators. Data and results collected through the this program will inform TSA's policy and program initiatives and allow TSA to provide focused resources and tools to enhance the overall security posture within the surface transportation community.

Short Statement: TSA originally had two BASE collections, namely Public Transportation BASE (former TSA OMB control number 1652-0061) and Highway BASE (TSA OMB control number 1652-0062). In order to simplify the collection and reduce duplication, TSA has combined these two previously-approved Information Collection Requests into a single request, under TSA OMB control number 1652-0062. As such the burden of OMB control number 1652-0062 has changed to include the burden of Public Transportation 1652-0061.
