Abstract: Owners, Charterers, Managing Operators, or Agents of U.S. Vessels must immediately notify the U.S. Coast Guard if they believe the vessel may be lost or in danger. The Coast Guard uses this information to investigate the situation and, when necessary, plan appropriate search and rescue operations.
