Section 1106 of the Moving Ahead for
Progress in the 21st Century Act (MAP-21) requires States to
develop Risked-Based Asset Management Plans for the National
Highway System (NHS) to improve or preserve the condition of the
assets and the performance of the NHS (23 U.S.C. 119(e)). MAP-21
also requires that one year after the publication of the final
rule, each State DOT submit its processes for the development of
its risk-based asset management to the Federal Highway
Administration (FHWA) for initial certification and every four
years following the year of initial certification (23 U.S.C.
119(e)(6).
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
