In accordance
with 5 CFR 1320, the information collection is approved for three

calculated exclusively based on actual, past burden.

In 2006, the NRC amended its
regulations to implement a National Source Tracking System (NSTS)
for certain sealed sources. The amendments require licensees to
report certain transactions involving nationally tracked sources to
the NSTS. These transactions include manufacture, transfer,
receipt, disassembly, or disposal of the nationally tracked source.
The NRC Form 748 is used to collect this information (submitted via
fax, mail, or email), or licensees may submit the information using
an online system. This information collection is mandatory and is
used to populate the NSTS.
The previous burden for this
collection was 1,601.5 hours and 13,523 responses. The burden is
expected to increase to 2,209.7 hours and 20,306 responses (an
increase of 608.2 hours and 6,783 responses). The estimated burden
has increased for the following reasons: • Reporting estimates have
improved in the last several years. NRC is now receiving monthly
reports with exact submission counts by reporting method. The
current estimates are based on annual averages from calendar years
2012, 2013, and 2014. • The number of overall NSTS transactions has
increased over the last three years. In addition, the fee rate has
increased from $274 to $279 per hour.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
