Regulations 30 C.F.R. § 75.1702 prohibits persons from smoking or carrying smoking materials underground or in places where there is a fire or explosion hazard. regulations § 75.1702-1 requires a mine operator to submit a smoking prevention plan to MSHA for approval.
Adjustments are as follows: there was a decrease in the total number of programs submitted (97 to 17) resulting in a decrease of 40 burden hours (from 49 to 9). A corresponding decrease occurred in the number of respondents (97 to 17) and responses (97 to 17).
