The CG needs this information in order
to safeguard vessels, ports and waterfront facilities from sabotage
or terrorist acts. This information will be used to control vessel
traffic, develop contingency plans, enforce regulations, and
enhance maritime security. Respondents are operators of barges
loaded with certain dangerous cargoes.
