The Department of Education
(Department) proposes to amend the Student Assistance General
Provisions regulations in Subpart D – Institutional and Financial
Assistance Information for Students issued under the Higher
Education Act of 1965, as amended (HEA), through new 34 CFR Part
668.50 requiring institutional disclosures for distance education
and correspondence courses. These proposed regulations are a result
of negotiated rule-making and would add new requirements to the
current regulations. This request is for a new information
collection to include these new regulatory requirements.
