Logistics and Recruiter Script for in-Park Focus Group Sessions
Summary
There will be four focus group sessions at two different parks. The sessions will be held on consecutive days in a meeting room in the park’s visitor center. We plan to begin the sessions in the late afternoon (e.g. 4 pm) each day.
A recruiter will be stationed in the park visitor center beginning at 9:00 am on the day of each session.
The recruiter will select individuals or groups based on observable characteristics. Specifically, an attempt will be made to recruit a mix of focus group participants in terms of age, gender and ethnicity to the extent possible.
Once identified, the recruiter will approach an adult in the group and read the script below to request participation.
Only one adult (18 years or older) per group will be asked to participate.
Individuals agreeing to participate will be provided information about the time and location of the focus group. Names and cell phone numbers will be recorded and used only for a reminder call prior to the session.
The recruiter will continue to intercept individuals/groups until 10 participants have been confirmed. If the recruiter is unable to confirm 10 participants, the group will be held with as few as 4 to 6 participants. Otherwise the session will be deferred to another day.
The Paperwork Reduction Act Statement will be made available upon request.
