remotely controlled switches are lined so as to protect the lives
and maintain the safety of railroad employees who are working on
track in crews or who are occupying camp cars. The information is
collected to assure compliance with the Rail Safety Improvement Act
of 1988.

The burden for this revised
information collection has decreased by a total of 29,590 hours
from the last approved submission. The change in burden is solely
due to the two adjustments shown in the table included in the
answer to question number 15 of the attached Supporting
Justification. Adjustments above decreased the burden by 29,590
hours and decreased the number of responses by 1,775,425. The
current burden for this information collection in the OMB inventory
shows a total of 60,010 hours, while the present submission
exhibits a total burden of 30,420 hours. Hence, there is decrease
in burden of 29,590 hours from the last approved submission. There
is no change in cost to respondents from the last approved
submission.
