is used by lawful permanent residents seeking to become naturalized
citizens of the United States. The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration
Services (USCIS) uses this form to determine an applicant's
eligibility for naturalization.
The increase in hour burden
results from a better estimate of the number of respondents that
will complete the Form N-400, The increase in cost burden is due to
the increase in the estimated number of respondents. The number of
respondents for the electronic submission has been adjusted.
