The information is used to determine if lessees are in compliance with leasing of minerals other than oil, gas, and sulphur requirements, to specify lease areas, and to evaluate bids. Respondents are OCS lessees, prospective bidders, states, and interested members of the public.
The current OMB inventory includes 1,264 annual burden hours for the collection of information in 30 CFR 581. This submission is requesting a decrease of 280 hours from those burden hours. Due to solicitor review, burdens from two provisions in subpart BâLeasing Procedures were removed because the information is exempt as defined in 5 CFR 1320.3(h)(4). These provisions are:
⢠30 CFR 581.12, submit response to Call for Information and Interest on areas for leasing of minerals in accordance with approved lease program (120 annual burden hours); and
⢠30 CFR 581.16, submit suggestions and relevant information in response to request for comments on the proposed leasing notice (160 annual burden hours).
