The Federal Communications Commission
seeks to revise the information collection associated with the
Telephone Consumer Protection Act, OMB Control No. 3060-0519. On
August 11, 2016, the Commission released a Report and Order in CG
Docket No. 02-278, FCC 16-99, adopting rules to implement the TCPA
amendments Congress enacted in Section 301 of the Bipartisan Budget
Act of 2015. The Commission adopts rules for calls “solely to
collect a debt owed to or guaranteed by the United States,” and for
calls “to collect a debt owed or guaranteed by the United
States.”

On August 11, 2016, the
Commission released a Report and Order in CG Docket No. 02-278, FCC
16-99, adopting rules implementing the TCPA amendments Congress
enacted in Section 301 of the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2015.
Therefore, the Commission reports the following program changes:
the number of respondents has increased by +1,600, from 34,948 to
36,548 respondents, the number of annual responses has increased by
+65,800, from 147,368,997 to 147,434,797 responses, and the total
annual burden hours has increased by +460, from 666,138 to 666,598
annual burden hours.
