The primary use for information gathered through this clearance is to allow voluntary partner and customer surveys to identify strengths and areas for improvement in current policies, programs, operations and services provided by OER/OD/NIH and the other components of the NIH that support and promote research conducted by the extramural scientific community to benefit the Nation’s health. Obtaining information about the satisfaction of partners and customers is consistent with EO 12862, as well as a good business practice.

We are reinstating this collection to show an increase in the annual burden hours (291 additional hours) and a decrease in the annual number of respondents (875 fewer) from the previously approved collection. Planned qualitative studies requiring a longer duration resulted in a slight increase in the burden hours. The number of respondents was decreased based upon the number of respondents in the previous extension.
