Abstract: DFARS Part 229 and the clause at 252.229-7010 require contractors, whose contracts are awarded in the United Kingdom and which require the use of certain fuels and lubricants during performance, to provide the contracting officer with evidence that an attempt to obtain relief from customs duty on fuels and lubricants has been initiated.

Short Statement: The changes in the estimated burden hoursreflect an adjustment due to a reduction in the average number of contract actions subject to the clause each year, based on FY 2016 FPDS data. Accordingly, there is a corresponding decrease in the estimated cost due to the reduction in the estimated number of contract actions and burden hours.
