DFARS Part 229 and the clause at 252.229-7010 require contractors, whose contracts are awarded in the United Kingdom and which require the use of certain fuels and lubricants during performance, to provide the contracting officer with evidence that an attempt to obtain relief from customs duty on fuels and lubricants has been initiated.
The changes in the estimated burden hours reflect an adjustment due to an increase in the average number of contract actions subject to the clause each year, based on fiscal year 2017 through fiscal year 2019 data from the Federal Procurement Data System. Accordingly, there is a corresponding increase in the estimated cost due to the increase in the estimated number of contract actions and burden hours.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that the collection of information encompassed by this request complies with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3).
