Who must comply?	Owners of permitted bridges over navigable waters of the US
What is this collection about?	If a permitted bridge that crosses a navigable water of the US is determined to be an unreasonable obstruction to navigation, then the bridge owner is required to prepare and submit general plans, specifications, and, if necessary, geographic location for the alteration of the unreasonably obstructive bridge.
Where do I find the requirements for this information?	33 U.S.C. 494, 502, 511, 513, 514, 515, 516, 517, 521, 522, 523 and 524
When must information be submitted to the Coast Guard?	Since the Federal Government will pay for the majority cost of the bridge; the required information must be provided once Congress has appropriated enough funding to start the project.

What happens when complete information is received?	The information (general plans, specifications, and mapping location) is necessary to determine both the scope of the alteration project and the apportionment of cost. The information is reviewed to determine how to proceed with the alteration and to determine what part of the cost of alteration is betterment and what part is necessary to meet the needs of navigation.
