Attached is the Information Collection Request (ICR), Law Enforcement Officers Killed and Assaulted Program, Analysis of Law Enforcement Officers Feloniously Killed and Assaulted; and Law Enforcement Officers Killed and Assaulted Program, Analysis of Officers Accidentally Killed. The Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program is requesting an extension of a currently approved collection and submission to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). The requirements of this collection are prescribed by Title 28, U. S. Code, Section 534. These forms are the means by which law enforcement agencies report circumstances regarding law enforcement officers killed and/or assaulted and injured with a firearm or a knife/other cutting instrument data to the FBI. Following auditing and processing, the data are published in Law Enforcement Officers Killed and Assaulted and maintained within the FBI UCR Program database.
