The School Breakfast Program is a
nutrition assistance program whose benefit is providing breakfasts
to children that meet nutritional requirements prescribed by the
Department. This Program is authorized to issue payments to the
States to assist them to initiate, maintain, or expand nonprofit
breakfast programs in schools.

This collection is currently
approved with 3,824,307 burden hours and 33,649,369 responses. FNS
estimates that the burden hours will increase by 33,463 hours and
that the responses will increase by 400,360 responses. These
increases are from changes in the number of SFAs and schools
participating in the program, resulting in an adjustment to this
collection. As a result of this revision, FNS estimates that this
collection will have 3,857,770 burden hours and 34,049,729
responses.
