The information on the Form N-600 is
necessary for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to
make a determination that the citizenship eligibility requirements
and conditions are met by the applicant
USCIS is reporting changes to
the estimated annual hour burden for this collection of information
as a result of changed estimates, as well as a program change. The
estimated time burden per response for both instruments was
adjusted downward, resulting in a decrease in the total estimated
annual hour burden for each instrument. USCIS is also reporting a
new estimated annual hour burden as a result of a program change
that requires N-600 respondents to provide biometrics when filing
this form. USCIS is updating its cost burden reporting for this
collection of information. Previously, the paper and e-filing cost
burdens were reported together. USCIS is now breaking the estimated
cost to respondents out by instrument. The estimated annual cost
burden to respondents has increased due to the increase in the
estimated number of respondents for each instrument. There is no
estimated cost to respondents as a result of the addition of
biometrics to this information collection.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
