Abstract: MITIGATION OF BEYOND-DESIGN-BASIS EVENTS FINAL RULE The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is amending its regulations that establish regulatory requirements for nuclear power reactor applicants and licensees to mitigate beyond-design-basis events. Applicants under Part 52 must include in their applications plans for implementing the requirements of the new section 10 CFR 50.155 Mitigation of beyond-design-basis events, including a schedule for achieving full compliance with these requirements, however, no applications are anticipated during the clearance period, therefore the burden for Part 52 information collections remains unchanged at this time.
