The Wendell H. Ford Aviation Act for
the 21st Century requires, among other things, that the Department
review all complaints that airlines receive from passengers
alleging discrimination on the basis of disability. The Department
is also required to submit an annual report to Congress indicating
the results of such review. The substance of this report is based
on the data submitted to the Department by the air carriers. Air
carriers are required to submit a report to the Department
annually. - The entities who must respond: Airlines - The
collection is reporting (A chart to be filled) - Collection
frequency: Annual - The information that would be reported,
maintained in records, or disclosed: The number of
disability-related complaints received by each individual airline.
- Who would receive the information? -- DOT, which will provide the
information to Congress and publish it on its website for public
access - The purpose of the collection: To fulfill a statutory
requirement that the Secretary of Transportation “regularly review
all complaints received by air carriers alleging discrimination on
the basis of disability” and “report annually to Congress on the
results of such review.” - This is not a revision.

The annual reporting and
record-keeping burden hours has increased because the number of
respondents has increased since the data was provided by carriers
in 2013, 2014 and 2015.
