Terms of Clearance: This form is only approved for two years due to non-compliance with the Government Paperwork Elimination Act. Abstract: According to INA 213 and the proposed rule, it is within DHS’s discretion to permit the posting of a public charge bond. Therefore, if USCIS determines that a public charge bond is warranted, DHS will notify the alien that he or she may post a public charge bond with USCIS, and the bond amount.
