FSA is providing cost share assistance
to producers and handlers of agricultural products in obtaining
certification under National Organic Program (NOP) . State Agencies
will get funds via Grants.gov to disburse cost share assistance to
the producer or handlers.
The burden hours increased by
28,290 hours since the last OMB approval. The reason for the
increase is due to increased participation in the NOP. There is
also a decrease of -7000 hours due to the removal of the travel
time from this request. The respondents go to the county offices to
do regular and customary business with FSA for OCCSP; this means no
travel times is required specifically for the information
collection and therefore, it is no longer included in the burden
hour reporting.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
The following is a summary of the topics, regarding
the proposed collection of information, that the certification
covers:
(i) Why the information is being collected;
(ii) Use of information;
(iii) Burden estimate;
(iv) Nature of response (voluntary, required for a
benefit, or mandatory);
