Voluntary Web-Based Survey of NIST Version 1.1 Cybersecurity Framework Use.


PURPOSE: To gather input from Transportation Systems Sector (TSS) stakeholders on the adoption of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Version 1.1 Cybersecurity Framework. The TSS is comprised of an integrated network of transportation owners and operators, both public and private, that are responsible for the safety and security of the movement of people and commerce. The specific roles and responsibilities vary based on the nature of the service provided and the associated security risks. Entities come from various modes of transportation including but not limited to airport authorities, airlines, public transportation agencies, over-the-road-bus companies, long haul and short line railroads, and pipeline operators.


DESCRIPTION OF RESPONDENTS: Current (at the time of the survey) TSS stakeholders across all modes of transportation, including aviation, maritime, pipeline, and surface sectors.

TSA will distribute the survey via email to all the members of the TSS. TSA and the Department of Transportation (DOT) also will distribute the survey to the Aviation Security Advisory Council, the Surface Transportation Security Advisory Council, and the Sector Coordinating Council for the TSS.
