The information on Form I-485 will be
used to request and determine eligibility for adjustment of
permanent residence status. Supplement A is used to adjust status
under section 245(i) of the Immigration and Nationality Act
(Act).
There is a 1,469,971 hours
decrease in the annual hour burden. This is a result of the
calculation of the five-year average for the population of the
respondents subject to public charge adjudication required under
the Public Charge rulemaking, which was partially offset by an
increase in the time burden for the I-485 and Supplement A. There
is a $66,794,448 annual cost burden decrease. The decrease in cost
burden is due to the decrease in the calculations for estimated
number of respondents that resulting in program changes based on
the Public Charge rulemaking.
