The NOAA Educational Partnership
Program (EPP) collects, evaluates, and assesses student data and
information for the purpose of selecting successful candidates,
generating internal NOAA reports and articles to demonstrate the
success of its program. EPP requires applicants to its student
scholarship programs to complete an application for NOAA
undergraduate programs. Part of the application package requires
references (e.g., academic professors and advisors) to complete a
NOAA student scholar reference form in support of the scholarship
application. NOAA EPP student scholar alumni are also requested to
provide information for NOAA internal tracking purposes. In
addition, the collected student data supports NOAA EPP's program
performance measures. This collection is being revised to provide
an updated format for the Voluntary Alumni Update System
information and capture an increase in the number of responses for
the Student & Performance Measure Tracking System (SPMTS) due
to a change in the special award conditions.
The current number of responses
and burden hours is based on data from the previous 3 years. The
number of respondents for applications and references increased by
600 with a corresponding increase in responses and burden hours.
The number of respondents for the Alumni Update form decreased by
50 with a corresponding decrease in responses and burden hours. The
SPMTS form is now required semi-annually resulting in 4 additional
responses, and the burden time increased from 22 hours to 28 hours
per update resulting in an increase of 136 hours. The number of
respondents for the Student Training Record form increased by 25
with corresponding increases in the response and burden hours.
