The maximum fine amount in the
Certification Statement in Section L (page 54 of the e-Application
Form cleared by OMB on 11/29/2019) has increased from $27,500 to
$58,328 per final regulations issued by the Department of Education
(Department) on 1/14/2020. The adjustment is made to update the
Department’s civil monetary penalties for inflation. This
adjustment is required by the Federal Civil Penalties Inflation
Adjustment Act Improvements Act pf 2015. There is no change in the
anticipated number of respondents/responses/burden hours previously
cleared due to this change.
