Abstract: This application package is used by both institutions of higher education and individual applicants to apply for fellowships under the Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad (DDRA) program. Information submitted in this collection will be used during the peer review to evaluate and score the applications, and to make funding decisions. The Department requires this information collection in order to make discretionary grant awards under this program.

Short Statement: This collection requires an adjustment in burden hours and responses. The total burden hours and respondents for the Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad (DDRA) program have have increased over the course of the prior grant competitions. From FY 2016 –FY 2019, we have received an average of 310 applications which is unchanged, but the average number of applicants slightly increased. Therefore, the number of institutional and individual respondents is 360 and the total burden hours is 9,000 for the DDRA program.
