This mandatory Information collection
collects monthly nonstop segment and on-flight aviation data from
US and Foreign Air carriers. It is used to administer various
programs including international bilateral agreements, disbursement
of airport funds, infrastructure planning such as FAA airport
improvement, program air safety, justice departments monitoring
acquisition and mergers, FAA travel forecasting and their airport
capacity analysis establishing intra Alaskan mail rates . The
Department relies on the collection of traffic reporting system to
fulfill its strategic plan. The DOT monitors and studies the
movement of aircraft and passengers to ensure safe and efficient
operations. Information-related technologies will enable
collection, management, integration, and distribution of more
transportation information in less time with better accuracy and
broader application information systems are being integrated into
agency activities, especially a coordinated effort by the Office of
the Secretary, the Federal Aviation Administration, the Bureau of
Transportation Statistics (BTS), and the Inspector General Office
to reduce airline delays. Enplanement, departures by aircraft type,
and load factor data are critical in planning for infrastructure
