The information collection
requirements contained in the Standard on Material Hoists,
Personnel Hoists, and Elevators (29 CFR 1926.552) are designed to
protect workers who operate and work around personnel
hoists.

The Agency requests an
adjustment increase of 1,943 burden hours (from 8,104 hours to
10,047 burden hours). This adjustment is because of economic growth
and measured additional non-residential construction which has
resulted in more hoists and elevators in use.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
