In accordance with 5 CFR 1320, the information collection is approved for three years. OMB reminds the agency that, according to 5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3), the burden statement on a form should include the reason for the collection, whether it is voluntary or mandatory (and by what authority), and a contact for burden comments. OMB would additionally request that screenshot examples of the online survey portal be included in the next ICR.

The information collected via STEW_MAP will identify and map all stewardship projects in a given geographic area or city. The information will help natural resource decision makers, land managers, and the stewards themselves understand the extent and distribution of local civic environmental stewardship across the area.
We anticipate increasing the number of projects conducted as we expand deployment in different regions. For this approval, weâve estimated an average of 10 different STEW-MAP projects per year. Conducting future STEW-MAP assessments across the nation will allow US Forest Service researchers to take a more prominent role in future projects and to develop STEW-MAP as a Forest Service-branded methodology for assessing civic environmental stewardship.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that the collection of information encompassed by this request complies with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3).
