TITLE OF INFORMATION COLLECTION: Early Career Investigator Day (ECID) (NCI)


PURPOSE:


The Early Career Investigator Day (ECID) will be held virtually on March 22, 2022 as a pre-conference session to the 10th Annual Symposium on Global Cancer Research. Virtual meeting details will be made available in advance of the meeting. This session is an opportunity for early career scientists interested in a career in global cancer research to learn about initiating and sustaining research collaborations in global settings and getting started in cancer research. This interactive session will begin with an introduction to global research training opportunities at the US National Cancer Institute and National Institutes of Health (NIH). This will be followed by presentations from and discussions with cancer researchers supported by the NIH where they will share experiences in initiating and maintaining research collaborations; they will also discuss technical and non-technical skills and competencies needed for global cancer research careers. Finally, perspectives from current NIH early career development awardees and mentors will be presented and discussed.


DESCRIPTION OF RESPONDENTS:


NIH Scientists, NIH-funded Researchers, PIs, NCI Designated Cancer Centers, academic institutions, students, and researchers from low- and middle-income countries.
