A Declaration of Inspection (DOI) documents the transfer of oil and hazardous materials, to help prevent spills and damage to a facility or vessel. Persons-in-charge of the transfer operations must review and certify compliance with procedures specified by the terms of the DOI. |

The information is not submitted to the Coast Guard; rather the DOI must be available for inspection during the transfer and retained for at least 1 month thereafter. |

What happens when complete information is received? |
The DOI will be verified during normal Coast Guard inspections. No specific documentation will be issued by the Coast Guard. |
