The Federal regulations governing the
WIC Program (7 CFR part 246) require that certain program-related
information be collected and that full and complete records
concerning WIC operations are maintained. The information reporting
and record-keeping burdens are necessary to ensure appropriate and
efficient management of the WIC program.

Revisions in the burden hours
are due to program changes and program adjustments. Program changes
are related to the use of technology, streamlining processes,
changes in frequency, the inclusion of travel times, and previously
existing programmatic requirements that are being included in this
ICR for the first time. Program adjustments reflect expected
changes in the number of WIC participants, WIC authorized vendors,
and WIC State and local agencies.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
